In this course, you will learn strategies to prevent bullying, particularly through engaging pupil voice. You'll also explore ways to support children and young people who are bullied and help those who bully change their behaviours.
Sensitive Topic! The course content covers sensitive and occasionally challenging topics related to safeguarding, which may trigger upsetting emotions. Due to the nature of safeguarding training, these subjects must be addressed. Lists or examples may be provided, such as categories of early childhood trauma like sexual and physical violence, and neglect. This course is divided into four modules:
Module One: Bullying and Cyberbullying
Exploring the definitions and responsibilities in schools regarding bullying and cyberbullying.
Module Two: Strategies to Prevent Bullying
Examining whole school responses to prevent bullying and build a bullying prevention culture and establish anti-bullying practices.
Module Three: Strategies to Support Victims of Bullying
Addressing support strategies for victims of bullying, focusing on how we, as adults, can make sure that the hurt experienced by the victim does not become a lifelong trauma.
Module Four: Helping Bullies to Change Their Behaviour
Understanding the causes of bullying behaviour in children and young people, supporting behaviour change, and reviewing prevention strategies to evoke permanent change.
