Teaching Jobs
Long-term teaching jobs give you the opportunity to work from a few weeks to a few months in the same school, and usually in the same role without making a permanent commitment. Cover can arise from a range of absences such as maternity or paternity leave, long-term sickness, career break or planned leave.
Your responsibilities as a long-term supply teacher will usually be the same a permanent teacher which includes planning and delivering lessons, marking, assessments, parent’s evening and getting involved wholly within the school. It is common for long-term supply teachers to be offered a permanent role at the end of the assignment.
üLong-term supply gives your teaching career a boost, allowing you to progress further as well as networking and mentoring opportunities.
üProvides a more reliable income and job security than day-to-day supply.
üYou become part of the school and included in wider projects.
ûThere is no guarantee you will be able to stay on once the assignment finishes. This can be a huge disappointment particularly if you have enjoyed yourself and settled into the school.
