Head of Science – The Role

A highly regarded independent secondary school in Watford is seeking a Head of Science to lead its successful and well-resourced Science department. The successful candidate will:

Provide strategic leadership and management for the Science department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.

Deliver engaging and challenging Science lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5 in one or more Science disciplines.

Oversee curriculum development, assessment strategies, and student progress tracking.

Support and develop staff within the department, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.

Promote a passion for Science through extracurricular activities, including STEM clubs, competitions, and educational trips.

Ensure continued success in Science GCSE and A-Level results by implementing effective teaching methodologies and intervention programs.
